Lalor Creative Hub

Lalor Creative Hub, a social enterprise established by Bushra for the Lalor Neighbourhood House, aims to lead the local community towards financial independence by guiding them to develop their talents and skills. LCH is a safe and friendly environment for community members to connect, socialise, practice their communication skills, and learn from each other.

The LCH provides free training if required, so that the members can hone their skills. We also promote their creations on various platforms and hold 'Maker's Markets' where they can sell their creations. The LCH is inclusive, we welcome community members with special needs, refugees, asylum seekers and anyone looking to make friends and learn new skills.

The social enterprise is gaining popularity and support from organisations such as Whittlesea Council, the Department of Justice, Yarra Valley Library, and Mernda Neighbourhood House.

TramJatra -Melbourne Festival

As part of the Melbourne Festival Art Trams, Bushra was awarded the project to design a Melbourne tram in collaboration with the cheerful tram conductor Roberto D'andrea. Bushra's tram, aptly called TramJatra, represented the journey and celebration of two of the oldest operational tramways in the world.

Bushra depicted the vibrant art of Kolkata's tram on a Melbourne tram. The tram and its eclectic design became hugely popular in India and Australia. The tram was launched as part of the 2017-18 Melbourne Festival Arts Trams by the Victorian Government with representatives from Yarra Trams and Public Transport Victoria.
