Formally educated in Fine Arts from India's top design institute, Jamia Millia Islamia, Bushra began her career as a graphic designer and has worked with publications like Harper's Bazaar, Marie Claire, India Today and Hindustan Times.

Hailing from a family of creatives, Bushra and her sisters started 'IndyBindi', a social initiative, encouraging women from rural India to become financially independent through art.

After moving to Melbourne, Bushra's artistic style caught the eyes of MAV (Multicultural Arts Victoria), a non-profit community arts organisation. Her artwork was showcased in grand style on a life-sized elephant as part of the Moomba Parade.

One of Bushra's proudest moments was when she was commissioned to design artwork for a Melbourne tram as part of the Melbourne Art Trams project. Her vibrant and colourful design celebrated the 20-year anniversary of the shared history of tram workers and decorated trams in Melbourne and Kolkata, India.

Bushra is now a part of the Lalor Neighbourhood House and is dedicated to uplifting the neighbourhood via colourful murals, involving local communities in her neighbourhood beautification projects.

She has also initiated a social enterprise called Lalor Creative Hub that creates opportunities for local community members to become entrepreneurs through skill-building initiatives, workshops, financial support and maker's markets.

Bushra also conducts regular workshops as part of various events across Melbourne, her most recent one being with the National Gallery Victoria.
